These last two years have been trying, to say the least.  In the pursuit of following what others have to say about healthy decisions, we’ve seen many people who are now, ironically, in worse health than they have ever been.  Weight gain, diabetes, and mental health struggles seem to be an increasing issue.  

What’s the good news?  We’re here to help… when you are ready.  When you are ready to pursue an active lifestyle that involves contact with others, we’re here for you.  

Our programs bring people together.  We help you meet your personal goals in a positive environment that builds community.  Training in the martial arts has always encompassed a holisitic approach to health.  It’s way more than just picking something up and putting it down; it involves mental acuity at a different level.  And, you learn a life-skill.  You learn how to defend yourself!  This builds confidence and fortitude.

We are now starting to see people who are… ready.  They are ready to take control of their lives, and they’re ready to get back into and environment that involves contact with others.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai are modern styles with grappling and kickboxing focuses, respectively.

Instead of eating extra large portions, chose wisely and your body and waistline will thank you for it. Couple this with a regular fitness routine that you enjoy, and you will find that reaching and maintaining your healthy fitness goals is within your reach.

Best Mediterranean Salad

Here’s a salad recipe that serves as an entire meal. It’s filled with fresh ingredients that increase your fiber count for the day. The simple dressing tastes fantastic. Add a grilled chicken breast to increase the protein in the dish and enjoy leftover for lunch the next day. Enjoy!

What you need
Servings: 8

For the Dreessing:

2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
½ teaspoon Dried Oregano
½ teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ cup olive oil
1 Tablespoon lemon juice

For the Salad:

8 cups Baby Arugula
1 cup cooked quinoa
1 can (15 oz.) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 heirloom tomato, finely chopped
½ cup celery, minced
¼ cup fresh scallions, thinly sliced
¼ cup fresh basil, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Combine the dressing ingredients in a jar. Close the lid and shake until fully combined.
  2. Combine the salad ingredients in a large salad bowl. Toss with the dressing and serve immediately. Enjoy!
