Aikido Classes and Jujutsu Classes
PLUS ONE DEFENSE SYSTEMS, WEST HARTFORD, CT
Aikido techniques consist of entering and turning movements that redirect the momentum of an opponent’s attack, and a throw or joint lock that terminates the technique.[1] This modern Japanese martial art form is a great addition to any self defense training. While graceful when executed properly, the techniques are effective and quick. The idea is to stay safe and end the confrontation.

AIKIDO CLASS CONCEPTS
A typical Aikido class consists of practicing falling and rolling techniques, joint locks, pins, controls, throws, and chokes. Aikido classes will cover how to stabilize against or blend with the aggression of an attacker and how to use the attacker’s aggression to one’s advantage. Practitioners of all sizes in an aikido class will learn how to maximize their leverage and gain advantage over stronger or larger opponents. Students often come away from their aikido classes with increased confidence, improved flexibility, greater knowledge of how to use their body athletically, and a desire to keep learning more. Adults of all ages, men and women alike, are welcome to try out an aikido class today!
