The benefits of taking brazilian jiu-jitsu go far beyond the acquisition of skills that comprise BJJ as a martial art. Participants begin to see physical changes that contribute to greater flexibility and stamina, as well as improved mental acuity and agility.

Many people have heard about “the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu” lifestyle, but what is it exactly? It is the combination of the physical and mental improvements that happen naturally, as you train, which you take with you through your day. In today’s world, we often find ourselves moving our bodies in traditionally unnatural ways – we slump and watch TV, we hover over a keyboard or phone, we stand for hours at a counter.

BJJ combats these unnatural postures by stretching the body and adding an element of dynamic tension. These activities are drilled repetitiously. As it happens, the practitioner not only develops a better understanding of the art, they create a tighter relationship between the mind and body.
