Based on the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), … U.S. residents … who had been a victim of … violent crimes during the prior 6 months increased from 0.98% in 2015 to 1.14% in 2017. [1]

It’s a scary number, but one that deserves special attention. Looking the other way will not change it. What can change it is being prepared.
