Our Student of the Month for May is… Tyler Ferreira! Tyler has been training with us for one year, and he trains in Muay Thai, Kung-Fu, Karate, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is a very well-rounded young man!
Tyler is 6 years old, and he originally got started in the martial arts because he wanted to learn how to protect himself. He says he likes to practice. He likes practicing his punches, kicks, forms, and he likes sparring. Tyler really enjoys practicing with his dad, and he enjoys coming to class and learning new things. Tyler says he has made a number of friends at the dojo, and he is really happy about that!
When not at the dojo, Tyler enjoys inviting friends over to play pool. (You read that right. He’s 6 years old, and when asked, “What do you enjoy doing outside of the dojo?” He said he likes having friends over to play pool.)
When asked what he would do to make the world a better place, Tyler responded that he would like to make people feel better and be happier. He says that the martial arts help him to feel good, and they also help him learn how to be a good friend.
Overall, Tyler is our student of the month because… he is our future. He represents the next generation that will carry the arts forward- training in Kung-Fu, Karate, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu… all the while… learning to be a better and stronger person along the way. Nice work, Tyler. Keep it up!
